WHAT IS THE PHARMACEUTICAL SAFETY INSTITUTE?
The Pharmaceutical Safety Institute (the Institute) was established in 2006 with a vision to build public trust internationally by providing forums and developing initiatives to advance an overall "Culture of Safety" throughout the life sciences sector.
We are an independent nonprofit organization and our mission is to promote safety principles, best practices and organizational cultures of safety.
A Culture of Safety includes a system-wide commitment to safety values and practices that begins with leadership. A Culture of Safety represents a focus on safety values based on transparency, ethical business practices and evidence-based medicine.
The Institute will provide resources including consultation to the Life Sciences sector, education and training, and forums to build collaborations across sectors and stakeholders.
The Institute also develops community outreach programs to address the appropriate use of prescription medications.
The Institute has formed strategic partnerships with other nationally and globally recognized organizations; and has presented to world-class leadership in US and European conferences on consumer attitudes of the prescription drug industry.
